As a creator:
My artistic prowess range across traditional and digital mediums. My award-winning writing includes creative nonfiction, fiction, and poetry. My traditional art consists of graphite drawing, oil and acrylic painting, watercolor, ceramics, jewelry, and photography.
Notable photography includes commissioned wedding and pregnancy shoots, as well as candid shots of theatrical performances & headshots of actors.
As an educator and instructional designer:
I’ve been a teacher of humans short and tall for over five years, both in-person and in digital classrooms.
In 2023, I became a certified instructor of Adult Mental Health First Aid, an all-day program developed by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing to help bridge the gap of mental health literacy within everyday people.
In 2021, I returned to working in childcare services offered through the military, this time contributing to the U.S. NAVY by assisting and supervising young learners in their e-learning virtual classrooms. Additionally, I designed a 14-week long arts program for summer camp, with various weekly-themed activities for ages 5 – 12.
From 2017 – 2020, I was a Visual Arts teacher in a middle school setting, developing three distinct curriculums across three grade levels. While teaching in Title 1 schools, I developed art lesson plans aligning to social-emotional learning, incorporating art therapy research for reaching the whole child.
In 2017, I became a certified Secondary Teacher in the state of Illinois, and I am able to teach English Language Arts and Visual Arts as aligned to Common Core Standards.
I have maintained my PEL for the past eight years, and I have certified educational programs through the Illinois State Board of Education so that fellow educators can earn credit hours towards renewing their own PEL.
As a copywriter:
I’ve collaborated with numerous local bands to design logos for branding and marketing purposes. I also have experience in social media marketing for a digital retailer of jewelry, which includes the following:
